F.Y.I... Top trends in the interior design industry:
- Patterns and prints are back in a big way. I tell my customers "if you're going to do wallpaper, then really do wallpaper..."
- Sheerest worsted wools are replacing linens and lace as the under-curtains. Wool not only wicks away water, it also doesn't crease or wrinkle.
- Self-expression is the new "IN" design.
- Light is the most eloquent of all inventions. Without light, good light, there is no design.
- Matchstick and bamboo blinds are replacing plantation blinds.
- Four-seater sofas take the predictability out of the standard furniture store sofa. It's not quite a sectional, but much more than a couch.
